I would like to speak briefly about the topical application of essential oils. Essential oils are found in products and carriers as well as in bottles of pure oils. Which is the most effective? The answer may not be what you think.
Recall that essential oils are volatile substances that occur naturally in plants. These substances evaporate quickly and can be highly flammable (requiring pure essential oils to be shipped via ground transport).
With this understanding, placing essential oils directly on the skin (commonly known as the NEAT application) is not necessarily the most effective because it will evaporate quickly. And in some cases, can have negative effects!
Properly diluting your authentic essential oils is usually more therapeutically and energetically effective because it holds the essential oils on your skin for a longer period of time, allowing for an increased benefit. In addition, it is more economical and environmentally less impactful because you are using less of the essential oil to gain the same benefit.
The more you know. . . . .
