Key Ingredients:

·       Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil: Avocado oil is very thick oil and is one of the healthiest oil for skin.[i]  Avocado oil is made from the pulp of the avocado fruit. It is a rich, heavy oil rich in vitamins, proteins, beta-carotene, lecithin, and potassium. Avocado oil is included in the large group of compounds called plant sterols or sterolins which have a superior moisturizing effect on the upper layer of the skin. Emollient. (EW site) Contains vitamins: A, B1, B2 and D. Minerals: potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, Sulphur, calcium, sodium and copper. A superb emmolient higher degree of penetration into the epidermis, said to have skin healing properties; moisturizes, softens, anti-wrinkle[ii]

·       Simmondsia chinensis (Organic Jojoba) Seed Oil - Highly penetrating and closely resembles human sebum. Very moisturizing. Contains Myristic acid an anti-inflammatory agents and is an Antioxidant (SPS).

·       Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos) Leaf/Stem Extract – used for its antioxidant and soothing effects and to support hydration.

·        Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Leaf Juice - Aloe gel is primarily used topically (applied to the skin) as a remedy for skin conditions such as burns, frostbite, psoriasis, and cold sores[iii] . Aloe vera contains amino acids such as phenylalanine and tryptophane that have anti-inflammatory activity. It also acts as a scavenger of free oxygen radicals produced by PMN’s. The vitamin C in Aloe that inhibits inflammation picks up oxygen radicals to block the inflammatory process. Vitamin E, a known antioxidant, is also a component of Aloe vera. Aloe vera acts as a mechanism to promote the active biological agents that heal damaged tissue. During the healing process, Aloe vera’s stimulation of the fibroblast produces and adds new collagen to tissue. These collagen bonds are responsible for increased tensile strength.[iv]
