Interesting Factoids Regarding Our Largest Organ System
Did you know that your skin is a part of the body’s largest, most complex organ system? It is soft, pliable, strong, water proof and repairs itself. AMAZING!
The skin is layered and covers an area of about 20 square feet and weighs about 8 pounds (adults). Every minute, 30,000 + dead skin cells fall from your body – so in a month’s time all the cells on the top layer have been replaced.
Moisturizers add another waterproof barrier to prevent the escape of water from the skin.
